  1. It was the needle and the spoon And a trip to the moon Took me away, took me away I've been feelin' so sick inside Got to get better, Lord before I die Seven doctors couldn't help my head, they said "You better quit, son before you're dead" Quit the needle, quit the spoon Quit the trip to the moon We're gonna take you away Lord, we're gonna.
  2. Stefanie from Rock Hill, Sc The title of this song reminds me of the song "The Needle and The Damage Done" by Neil Young. I've never heard this song though. I know Lynyrd Skynyrd wrote "Sweet Home Alabama" as a response to the Neil Young songs "Southern Man" and "Alabama", so this other similarity is very interesting. see more comments.

  5. Few bands have followed a great first album with an equally great second, but Lynyrd Skynyrd did. Second Helping introduced the three-guitar attack that would become the band’s signature, with Ed King promoted from stand-in bassist. And King was co-author of the album’s three key tracks: the satirical heavy hitter Workin’ For MCA, the self-mythologising boogie Swamp Music, and the band.

  8. That said, now essentially a tribute band to the original band that bears the name, the current configuration manages to walk the fine line between actually being Lynyrd Skynyrd and sounding like Lynyrd Skynyrd. This two-disc set (a CD with a DVD of the same set) preserves a concert the band did on June 15, at Freedom Hall in Louisville, KY, one of the last shows with both Evans and Powell.
